Father's Day with Pop Pop!
We went to Greenfield Village last Sunday to celebrate Father's Day.

Hopefully, now that school is out for the summer I will be able to keep Ella's fan base update on all the "Ella-ness" that takes place from day to day.
Just out of school for one week and we have already been busy, busy, busy...we went to Greenfield Village for Father's Day, we had luncheon date with Aunt Elizabeth, we visited Ella's Beach (it is what she calls her blow up pool....her literary hero presently is Lulu the Ladybug Girl and Lulu visits an actual beach in a story...until we visit an actual beach Ella considers her pool her beach), we went to the Detroit Zoo with Mya and Macy, Ella has logged about 10 miles in her jogging stroller this week, and she was in a 5K race today with Daddy!!!

Haddy Dirday Daddy!!!
Today is David's birthday!!! Ella LOVES, I mean LOVES to sing the "Haddy Dirday" Song. We have a few versions that she has learned this year, but she always goes back to the classic Happy Birthday Song.
What a difference a year makes. Last year David's birthday lasted for 36-40 hours!!! It was spent traveling across many continents, up to the North Pole, and through several different time zones in order to get back home. We left Guangzhou, China on June 10th and through the miracle of flying back to the opposite side of the world that we had been on we arrived in LAX on June 10th (even after being delayed for 8 hours in Beijing!)
Needless to say I think having Ella sing "Happy Birthday" this year made up for the traveling craziness on his birthday last year.
