FCC Chinese New Year Party!

We joined a local FCC (Families with Children from China) Group a few months back.

Yesterday was the Chinese New Year party hosted by this group.

We traveled through the rain, the sleet, and the snow to make it to Ann Arbor. We met some very nice families, saw beautiful children, and made wonderful memories.

Daddy and Ella smiling for the camera before we left.

Ella playing one of the games (She received tickets based on the ducky that she grabbed. She ended up being able to get some bubbles and her first Silly Band!)

Ella and Mommy

Lion Dance

Mommy: "Would you like to touch the Lion Head?"
Ella: "No, no, no, no, no!!!"

Bubble Wrap (At the end of the party the kids got a chance to jump on bubble wrap to simulate the fireworks that one would watch at the conclusion of a Chinese New Year Party!)

We bought a few raffle tickets for some goodies that were being raffled off. Look at the loot Ella came home with last night!!! (That would be one Mulan doll and nine (9) different Chinese books! Ella also came home with an adorable little dress that would not fit another little girl that won a prize package. Oh! Ella's numbers were also called again to win something else...but, there just comes a time when enough is enough!).

We really had a great time. Ella was a hit with everyone. She smiled her smiles and give those sheepish looks that she gives so well. We think she was probably one of the youngest present if not the youngest little person at the party.

We are looking forward to the next get together with our new group and friends.
